Atlantic Reads: The Housewives Underground With Kaitlyn Tiffany

On Thursday, June 25, the Atlantic staff writer Kaitlyn Tiffany will sit down with The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, to discuss Tiffany’s new book, The Housewives Underground: The Untold Story of the Women Who Made the JFK Assassination Our Most Enduring Mystery. Tiffany’s book tells the story of three women—Maggie Field, Shirley Martin, and Sylvia Meagher—whose skepticism of the Warren Commission report on the assassination led them to conduct their own investigations into the president’s death. Tiffany and Goldberg will discuss how these amateur investigators challenged the official narrative of the tragedy, and how their work helped shape national memory.
