Until this year, the Billboard Hot 100 record for the longest-running non-holiday No. 1 song by a solo woman was jointly held by what two divas of the early 1990s?
The songs were “I Will Always Love You” and “We Belong Together.”
And by the way, did you know that when you take all songs into account, the record for cumulative weeks atop the Hot 100 belongs to “All I Want for Christmas Is You”? The song (released by one of the answers to Question 1) has spent 22 weeks at No. 1.
